Our Ghanaian partner Patriots Ghana, won their second grant from the Otto Per Mille funds of Tavola Valdese to start the third phase of the SeedScience project in Ghana. The total investment received amounts to 20.000 €, twice as much as last year. It is an incredible result which highlights the excellent work of project management and fundraising made by Patriots Ghana.
When we first started the project there, in 2018, we couldn’t have imagined training more than 30 teachers and enabling 2.500 students to have science hands-on experience. Now, some teachers we trained two years ago, became science seeders, SeedScience trainers, and Patriots Ghana can autonomously raise funds making the project highly sustainable.
So, for the 3rd phase of SeedScience project, Patriots Ghana will train 15 more teachers on-site in July. At this time, they will also focus on women’s education and how to increase their representation and interests in the STEM fields, as they noticed that having women in science is still seen as taboo by many people.
Congratulations to them for seeding science so well!
